02.19.26 Strategy and Accountability Committee Update

Update from past meeting:
Talked over a policy approved last June during our Redistricting work which signaled in the next budget cycle that the committee would explore developing new budget planning factors
These planning factors are the way in which our budget is calculated. For instance, they establish how many Assistant Principals are funded, at what anticipated cost, for each school based on enrollment.
The Committee looked at Arlington, Fairfax and Prince William to see how they approach their budget development
Will work with our budget office to look forward to future budgets with potential new planning factors
Hope to have these new processes come to the Board in fall of this year.
The next meeting of Strategy and Accountability will be in person on March 12 at ACPS in the Board Room
The meeting will focus on three things:
Update from Office of Accountability on the Implementation of our ACPS 2030 Strategic Plan
Further discussion on how ACHS, and the Division as a whole, is approaching work based learning partnerships
Looking at how the School Board writes its minutes (per a suggestion from Board Member Tim Beaty)
